What moves the price
For event pass card, the drivers are material: paper, cardstock, recycled paper, print: full color, one-sided or two-sided, format: die-cut pocket, foldover, finish: matte, gloss, uncoated, personalization: variable data, technology: RFID, NFC, magnetic stripe, material: PVC, composite, wood, encoding: UID, encrypted, pre-programmed — the spec them differently and the same item lands at either end of the band.
Published pricing shows the biggest drivers are substrate and security/features: simple paper or laminated event passes price much lower than PVC or RFID/NFC versions, and variable-data personalization adds setup and production cost. Realistic supplier routes are US-facing print/badge vendors for short-run custom event passes, plus overseas smart-card factories or marketplaces for high-volume PVC/RFID orders; quoted minimums and tooling/encoding charges often matter as much as unit price. Prices also drop materially with quantity breaks, but rush lead times, die-cut shapes, double-sided print, and encoding can move a job out of the middle of each band
